Most all paint has some sort of oil in the paint fill. a way to check is poke the paintball and squeeze out the paint into a clean water bottle and let it sit for 20 minutes. Then all the oil will rise and float on the top.
It won't mess your gun up if you chop or have a barrel break, you just need to clean it really well afterwards. If your having paint break in your 'chamber' then you need to turn your loader speed down and turn up your dwell just a little. A 08' ego should not be chopping paint.
