I go urban exploring to keep fit. I used to do a Spin class but for some reason a gay guy yelling at me to pedal faster on a bike that doesn't even move seemed rather... Well it just irks me. Now, breaking into construction sites, dilapidated buildings, and abandoned homes? That is a work out, and a fantastic adrenaline rush. Not to mention, some of the deserted asylums I've been to in other states are down right blood chilling. I love it.

Alrighty, picture this... You've got a backpack strapped to you, a flashlight in your hand, rope hanging off your belt, and you're in a building that's on the verge of collapse. Most of the places I've been to are deserted insane asylums, supposedly haunted abandoned houses, and whole ghost towns. Usually I go alone, so I know that I'm not being screwed with if I see or hear something strange.
Yes, I get scared, yes I've screamed/cried/nearly crapped myself at times. But, its the adrenaline rush I love. Heartbeat in my ears, stomach in my throat, ready to die if the 12th story floor of a dilapidated mental hospital doesn't hold my weight.
What's really fun to do... Is pitching a tent in a solitary confinement cell in the mental ward and seeing how long it takes before you hear some one scream right next to you when you're utterly alone.
Call me crazy, but this is how I see it... I have one life to live and I'm not gonna waste it by not tasting what absolute fear is. Added a few images I snagged from fellow urban explorers. In one of the pics the graffiti says "I was where you are. I am where you will be". Oh and all those pics, are from places in the USA.
If any one wants a guided tour of a place, let me know. I'm a pro at knowing how not to die in these places.

You broke into Chair and TV in Gary, IN!?!?!? That takes guts, I am from that area originally, and I stayed out of Gary as much as possible. All the props in the world to you.

only one question tho... as fun as this sounds how does it keep you fit?? you didnt say nothin about running or situps or pushups or anything lol. I do gotta give you props tho thats pretty kool
So instead of quoting each one of you and making the thread unnecessarily long...
Vegas Ninja: Most of the time its illegal so I really can't start a business. Some of the places that do allow 'urban exploring' are partitioned with little walkways, and that's entirely too confining for my tastes. And there's at least 7 ghost towns in Nevada, I have yet to find anything else of interest.
21Fox21: I used to go to LVAC. As much as I'd like to meet you there, I don't see the point of a useless membership... again...
Torture19: You're ridiculously funny... I haven't been to that particular site in the photo, a friend of mine has. But, I have been to Gary, and unlike you, I love the place. So many dark alleys to get stabbed in, so many bars to be kidnapped from... Woot woot.
xpoptart21x: Here are a few examples of how urban exploring keeps me fit: 1. Climbing up rusted gutter railings to get to a second floor point of entry. 2. Slinking along a half broken staircase with your back to the wall, and hoping it doesn't cave under you. 3. Rappelling down into a room from the floor above since all the doors into that particular room are locked. 4. Running out of the building because you just nearly sh*t yourself because something scared you. Need any more examples?
Thanks for all the props.

Damn.. Take me with you one time that sounds so sick!!
I stopped doing everything I used to do, to help out with the kids, but now I'm getting back into being active. I ride BMX, MX, along with the occasional sand dune trip. You'd be surprised at how good of a workout tossing around a 250lb motorcycle around a track would be, or the conditioning it takes to be able to pump around a track all the way to the end. Getting back into my hobbies....I realize how outta shape I really am- not for long!
Braaaaapp!!LOL!

ya but with out the over weight ppl not bashing or being rude just stating the fact they are easy and fun target to shoot lol good meat shields to but ya its a sport so we need are fit ppl haha stina you got invite me i want to get the shit scared out of me it sound hella fun plus havent gotten to do anything really neat in life
hey im not even that good at the paintball yet i dont get to go often school and money kills you at everything lol and not all big people are out of shape it depends on their body build
I guess I'd say I'm an alright for a "bigger" player. I'm sure not a 140lb-6ft rocket like some of these guys. I try to keep up with the rest of the front players. I would have to agree with staying fit, because you never know when you will get into that duel of a snapshoot with another player. You never want a love handle to hang out while tucking in tight. LOL!
I ride at Apex and at Homestead.. that place hasn't been all rutted out, but BLM will write you a nice fat ticket for riding there now. I used to race Novice NBL at Nellis.
Or I hit the gym 3-5 times a week (just started going the last two months) Fitness 19 @ Lone mtn. and Simmons

Fitness 19 is $12 a month, but you pay for what you get...it's small and there's only a few locations, but they have new equipment and a friendly staff.

Excel defense studio. It's a gym/studio for mixed martial arts, I went there mostlyfor Jiu jitsu. When i went there i was in the best shape of my life.
Here's what they do -Muay Thai Kickboxing/Thai Pads/Boxing
-Jiu jitsu & No Gi Jiu Jitsu (aka Submission Grappling)
Ya i've trained with friends and it just doesn't seem to work as well as a guy with a black belt in BJJ showing you and being able to learn with other people that are just as eager to learn. When i'm with friends it seems to be too relaxed....
I'll tell you one thing though when i did BJJ I was in the best shape of my life.
